1. Green Climate Fund has approved $200 million for a new ASD in India.

• The Green Climate Fund (GCF), the world’s largest climate fund, has approved $200 million for a new Asian Development Bank (ABD)-led programme.
• This will support ADB’s india Finance Facility (IGFF), a blended finance program that aims to crowd-in investment in emerging energy technologies from india’s leading development finance institutions (DFIs) and from the private sector.

2. India’s 1st globally recognised equine disease free compartment.

• India has set up its first Equine Disease-Free Compartment (EDFC) at the Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC) Centre & College in Meerut Cantonment, Uttar Pradesh.
• The facility was officially recognised by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), marking a crucial step in enabling indian sports horses to compete internationally in compliance with global biosecurity standards.

3. World’s most liveable city for 2025 revealed.

• The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has released the Global Liveability Index 2025, assessing the quality of life across major cities worldwide.
• Most liveable cities: Copehagen (Denamark) has claimed the top spot, Zurich (Swithcherland) ranks 2nd, tied with Vienna (Austria).
• Least liveable cities: Damascus (Syria) remains the least liveable city.
• Delhi & Mumbai both sharing 141st rank.

4. Assam’s Woolah Tea Secures patent for India’s first bagless tea.

• Assam’s Woolah Tea has secured a 20-year patent for India’s first bagless tea innovation.
• Woolah Tea has been granted Patent No. 567895 for its invention: ‘Compressed true leaf dips and method thereof’ (patent name).
• Uses a compressed bundle of ‘eti koli duti paat’ (one bud and two leaves), tied with a natural string, removing the need for conventional tea bags.

5. India’s first transgender clinic reopens in Hyderabad – Important Current Affairs 5 July 2025

• India’s first transgender clinic has been reopened in Hyderabad with aid from Tata Trusts.
• Launched in 2021, Mitri Clinic is also the first in india to be entirely staffed and managed by members of the trans community.
• As India’s first transgender-led clinic it ensures healthcare that is diginified, accessible, and community-driven.
